WHAT IS MATINEE?
Matinee Social Club is building “nightlife” for grown-ups. With Joyface’s immaculate vintage music curation and “Bring your parents, skip the line” policy at nighttime, bringing a weekly party to life with Joyface was the first things we did in NYC. Here’s what you can expect…

THE PARTY
The “Matinee Disco” is our collaboration with Joyface and the Matinee dance party that started it all. Join us for the unforgettable Joyface experience – a multi-generational evening of disco & vintage hits, bubbles, confetti, & pizza in a 70s inspired cocktail lounge.
MUSIC
Expect the classic Joyface music format – an upbeat feel good oldies party that feels like a vintage wedding.
DJs will mix 70s Disco, Funk, Motown, 80s Pop, & dash of 90s Dance. Think artists like Abba, Donna Summer, Madonna, Rick James, & Robyn.
ATTIRE
Disco chic vibes preferred, but really whatever you want to dance in…and no gym clothes or anything like that.

Joyface is a 70s inspired, intimate (~100 capacity) cocktail lounge featuring plush couches, a waterbed, and Funktion One sound system.

This event typically sells out a month in advance. Make sure your entire group buys early as it’s very unlikely that we can release more and door access is limited.

If the ticket was purchased through Matinee’s Eventbrite, you can request a refund through Eventbrite up to 10 days before an event. After that deadline, there are no refunds.
If the ticket was purchased through one of our partner venue’s ticketing platforms, the tickets are non-refundable.

Is pizza included? What kind?
Yes, pizza is included with your ticket for all events unless specified otherwise on the event ticketing page. It is typically cheese pizza although sometimes we mix it up.

If someone is under 30 years old, will they still be able to get in?
Yes, someone under 30 can still get in as long as they’re 21 or older. We started as a brand for Millennials, which would include upper 20s as well, but as we’ve grown we started saying 30+ to be more inclusive. If Gen Z starts flocking to the events, we may have to start enforcing, but to date it hasn’t been a problem.
