That’s why we’re starting “Sunglasses At Night”, a new 80s-focused concept by Matinee Social Club, where we’ll be diving deep into 80s nu wave, freestyle, synth-pop, & more. Expect an evening surrounded by a 30+ something crowd and enfulfed in the deep synths that defined a decade.

A ~200 person underground nightclub in the LES, drenched in purple hues, with a furry walled backroom, and an award winning sound system. "Think of it as a mix between a cool basement club in London and a hip Brooklyn warehouse, and add a touch of Manhattan flair." – Thrillist
Music: (Mostly) 80s nu wave, synth-pop, freestyle, new romantic and more. Think Prince, New Order, Stevie B, Rick James, Shannon, Duran Duran, Yazoo, Bronski Beat, etc. Inspo playlist.
For repeat Matineers, this will be adjacent to our “Lost Generation” party, with a focus on the 80s, but (a) it’s not just for Gen X and (b) the music will be more grooves and not as much singalong – the perfect pairing with VIRGO’s immaculate underground vibe.
Dress Code: 80's chic preferred. Purple hues. Prince / Rick James inspired. But really just dress for a fun night out.

Yes, at Joyface we almost always allow door access pending capacity.
That being said, entry is not guaranteed. Joyface only fits ~100 people and we don’t want to overcrowd it for ticketed guests.
Door priority will be given to friends of ticket holders.
If you have a large group, we recommend you wait and just tickets for a future event.
We recommend coming at the very beginning at 6pm OR later around 7:30pm once ticket holders have arrived.

Yes. There is one reserve-able space at Joyface that holds 10-20 people.
To reserve the space, you must buy the "Table Reservation" tickets for your group on Eventbrite. It also requires an $100 per person bar minimum.
